Start of the engine and start of motion

Preparation for a trip on the car

Before to sit down in the car make sure that its glasses, mirrors and light devices pure. Check up a condition of wheels, glance under the car and make sure of absence of leaks of liquids.

Check up levels of working liquids of the engine (the impellent oil, cooling and brake liquids), and also level of a liquid of washers of glasses according to the maintenance service schedule (see the Head of Adjustment and car routine maintenance).

Having settled down in the car, execute following operations:

    Close all doors and block their locks; Adjust seat position (the Section Adjustment of seats and headrests see) and external rear-view mirrors; Make sure of working capacity of external lighting devices; Check up work of devices; At ignition inclusion check up serviceability К/Л, the devices located on a combination; Release a lay brake and make sure that К/Л brake system has gone out.

Requirements to a physical condition of the driver

Do not operate the car in a state of intoxication since alcohol breaks cleanliness of consciousness, sight and coordination of movements.

Do not operate the car after a drug intake, reducing attention, or raising drowsiness, and also in a painful and tired condition.

Driving in the conditions specified above can lead to loss of controllability by the car and road accident occurrence.

Engine start

Between unsuccessful attempts of start of the engine it is necessary to wait about 30 seconds not to damage a starter.


The starter will not work, if the selector lever (models with АТ) is not in position P or N. After a long break in car use at engine start excessive noise which should disappear at achievement by the engine of normal working temperature can be audible.


 PERFORMANCE ORDER

    To begin with make sure that the lay brake is completely cocked, and all auxiliary systems are switched off. On models with АТ Move the lever of the selector of modes АТ in position P or N and completely squeeze out a brake pedal. On models with Manual transmission squeeze out a coupling pedal. On diesel models wait, will not go out yet К/Л preheat. Turn the ignition key in position ST and keep it, while the engine will not be started (but no more than 30 seconds) then release the ignition key, - it should return to position ON. If the engine has decayed after start attempt, repeat the procedure described above once again. Before a start of motion allow to the engine to work on single turns some time (from 10 seconds about several minutes, depending on an ambient temperature).

Irrespective of engine temperature at its start it is not necessary to press a gas pedal.
