Brake system

The brake system of considered cars is equipped by the vacuum amplifier allowing for braking with certain intensity to put to a pedal of a brake smaller effort, than it would be required without the amplifier. If the amplifier does not work (at the idle engine or for other reason), the working brake system remains serviceable, however to press on a brake pedal is required with большей force, and the brake way, as a rule, will increase.

At the idle engine by each pressing a brake pedal the additional effort of braking decreases, therefore it is not necessary to press a brake pedal at the idle vacuum amplifier without necessity (for example, at car deduction on slippery road).

In default brakes during movement braking by means of a lay brake is supposed, however it is necessary to remember always that the brake way in this case will exceed much more a brake way at use of working brakes.

Use of a lay brake at movement of the car with normal speed can cause driving loss, therefore if it is necessary to use a lay brake for a stop of the moving car, operate especially accurately.


It is not necessary to hold a foot on a brake pedal at car movement since it leads to heating and premature deterioration of brake mechanisms and increase in a brake way. At movement on a slope do not use brakes too long, instead use braking by the engine, being switched to lowering transfers. After movement during a rain, and also after overcoming of a water barrier it is necessary to dry brake mechanisms, slightly having pressed a pedal of a brake and keeping it until productivity of brakes will not return on normal level.

Forward and back brake mechanisms

On considered cars disk brake mechanisms are established. Indicators of their deterioration which start to publish a high-pitched sound at movement or by pressing a brake pedal if overlays demand replacement are built in brake overlays of forward wheels. Thus it is necessary to replace overlays whenever possible more likely to avoid further more expensive repair.

It is not necessary to confuse operation of indicators of deterioration brake колодок and the scratch of brakes arising under certain conditions by pressing a pedal of a brake.

Lay brake

The lever of a lay brake is located on the central console, between forward seats. For raising of a lay brake pull the lever upwards against the stop. For release a lay brake press the button located on the free end of the lever, and lower the lever downwards, keeping the button of the pressed.

Do not use instead of a lay brake the transmission established on transfer. On a parking necessarily cock a lay brake and establish selector AT lever in position P.

System of antiblocking of brakes (ABS)

System ABS constantly traces speed of rotation of wheels of the car and at their blocking repeatedly modulates hydraulic pressure in brake system.

At braking in conditions which can lead to blocking of wheels, it is possible to hear clicks in brake mechanisms, or to feel pulsations of a pedal of a brake. The listed phenomena are a consequence of normal work of system ABS and mean its activity. It is not necessary to change thus effort of pressure to a brake pedal since it will prevent system ABS to work with peak efficiency.

It is necessary to remember following safety measures always:

  • Even in the presence of system ABS the car cannot be stopped instantly, - hold a safe distance;
  • Always reduce speed on turns since system ABS cannot prevent failure occurrence at high speed;
  • At braking on rough road with use ABS the brake way appears more long, than without use ABS.
  • Do not neglect the general safety rules of traffic.

Check К/Л systems ABS at engine start, - it should light up for 2-3 seconds, and then go out. If К/Л does not die away, means ABS it is faulty, thus the working brake system can function normally. К/Л systems ABS can join and at long braking on slippery road. If it has occurred, stop and muffle the engine. If after engine K/L restart will not go out, drive away the car on HUNDRED for diagnostics and malfunction elimination.

Systems of distribution of draught (TC) and electronic stabilisation of stability (ESP)

The given systems are established as the additional equipment and use base ABS, доукомплектованную the additional pump, valves and gauges.

At definition of proslipping of a wheel of the car, moving with a speed less than 45 km/h, system TC (TCS) works. One of valves Thus opens, allowing the pump to create pressure in one of contours until proslipping according to speed of the car will stop. Thus there is a redistribution of traction effort. System ESP gauges give the information on a steering wheel angle of rotation, pressure in ГТЦ, angular speed and cross-section acceleration of the car. Being based on this data, the management block calculates a trajectory of movement of the car, compares it to a demanded trajectory and if necessary operates on one or several brake mechanisms, correcting a trajectory.

The scheme of work ESP

In case of an insufficient angle of rotation of a steering wheel затормаживается a back internal wheel; in case of an insufficient angle of rotation of a steering wheel затормаживаются external wheels until the calculated and measured sizes of angular speed will not coincide.
