Use of automatic transmission (АТ)

On considered cars it is established 5-step АТ, supervised by the electronic block of management. The lever of the selector of modes АТ is located in the bottom part of the central console.

The lever of the selector of modes АТ and switches of programs SPORT and WINTER

All transfers of advance it is switched automatically if the lever of the selector of modes АТ is in position D.

For moving of the lever of the selector from position P ignition should be included, the brake pedal is squeezed out, and also the button of removal of fixing (under the handle) is pressed.

Movings of the lever of the selector for which realisation it is required to press the button of removal of fixing, are specified in illustrations.

Use of the button of removal of fixing

Programs АТ

It is provided three programs of work АТ: normal, sports and winter.

The normal program gets out automatically at start of the engine and provides the maximum economy of fuel.

The sports program is intended for reception of the maximum capacity from the engine and, hence, at the given program there is more later a switching on raising transfers and earlier – on lowering. Inclusion and deenergizing of the sports program is made by pressing button "S" located on the handle of the lever of the selector of modes АТ. At the activated sports program burns corresponding К/Л in a combination of devices (the Section the Combination of devices see). Deenergizing of a sports mode occurs at a mode choice P or R, at engine deenergizing, at a choice of the winter program, and also at inclusion К/Л of malfunction АТ.

The winter program is intended for driving on a slippery covering. Thus movement begins with 3rd transfer. Inclusion and deenergizing of the winter program is made by button "W" located to the right of the lever of the selector of modes АТ. At the activated winter program burns corresponding К/Л in a combination of devices (the Section the Combination of devices see). Deenergizing of a sports mode occurs at a mode choice L, at engine deenergizing, at overheat ATF, and also at inclusion К/Л of malfunction АТ.

Functions АТ

The number of functions АТ includes the following:

Blocking of moving of the lever of the selector from position P – for removal of this blocking should be pressed a brake pedal. The sequence of the actions necessary for emergency removal of this blocking see more low.

Hydrotransformer switching-off on transfers with 3 on 5 – for the account of it decreases number of turns of the engine and, hence, and the fuel expense.

At activation of the given function there is a sensation of an additional gear change.

Kick-down – transfer Fall at completely squeezed out pedal of gas. The given function is used for maintenance of the maximum acceleration, for example, at overtaking. After that there is a switching on the raised transfer if only the gas pedal is not released till the moment of achievement of the maximum number of turns.

Operating modes АТ

Switching on lowering transfers on slippery road is not recommended.

P (Parking)

In given position АТ it is blocked, and forward wheels cannot rotate. Before to translate the selector lever in this position, completely stop the car.

Moving of the lever of the selector to position P at the moving car will cause blocking of forward wheels and loss of controllability of the car, and also will lead to transmission damage. Do not use position P instead of a lay brake – they should be shared.

R (Movement by a backing)

The given position of the lever of selector AT is used for movement back.

In order to avoid transmission damage before inclusion of transfer of a backing make sure that the car is completely stopped. After mode inclusion R wait, that transfer was included into gearing (it is felt on draught of the engine).

N (Neutral position)

Wheels and transmission are not blocked, the car can be moved freely.

D (Movement)

Normal position of the lever of the selector at car movement. АТ it is switched between all five transfers of advance, proceeding from an optimum parity of capacity and economy of fuel.

АТ it is switched only between transfers with 1 on 4//with 1 on 3. It is used for reception большей capacities at movement on lifting, and also for braking by the engine at movement on descent. The choice of this position also helps to reduce проскальзывание wheels on slippery road. The top limit of speed of movement at the chosen mode 4//3 makes 150//110 km/h.

Do not exceed as much as possible admissible speed of movement since it leads to an overheat and breakage АТ. The selector lever it is not necessary to translate in position 4//3 at speeds above accordingly 150//110 km/h.

L (Lowering transfer)

Establish the selector lever in this position at the big loading, and also at movement on a steep slope. In the given mode 1 and 2 transfers work only. At mode inclusion L after D fall of transfers occurs at next speeds:

Emergency removal of blocking of the lever of the selector in position P

For safety of the driver and passengers АТ it is equipped by system of the blocking preventing moving of the lever of the selector from position P if the brake pedal is not squeezed out.

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. For moving of the lever of the selector of position P squeeze out and keep a brake pedal. Then start the engine or turn the ignition key in position ON, press a clamp of the lever of the selector, located under its handle, and move the lever to demanded position. As well for extraction of a key from the lock of ignition the selector lever should be in position P.
  2. If at performance described above actions to move the lever of the selector from position P it was not possible, operate in the following sequence.
  1. Cock a lay brake, include ignition and a thin subject press the small button located in front to the left of the lever of the selector of modes АТ. Translate the lever in position P or N and release the button.
  1. After blocking removal check up a safety lock 1 in the main assembly block and if necessary replace it. If the safety lock is whole, the voltage reduction could become the reason of blocking of the lever of the selector. If the blocking reason is not defined, address on HUNDRED Saab.
